Student members

Student membership is designed for individuals who are currently studying at a university or higher education institution who are interested in dispute resolution. It offers early exposure to the profession through access to learning resources, early careers and other events, and networking opportunities, helping students to build knowledge and connections. Student membership is free of charge and, once approved, is valid for three years.

• Discounted fees for Ciarb’s Online Introduction to ADR course and assessment, which provides a pathway to eligibility for Associate membership;
• Reduced application fee of £45 when upgrading to a professional membership grade, including Associate, Member or Fellow;
• Access to exclusive Ciarb publications, including eSolver (monthly digital newsletter), Resolver (quarterly digital publication), arbitration journals, practice guidance, and articles available in the members-only section, MyCiarb;
• Invitations to participate in activities organised by Ciarb’s Young Members Group (YMG), providing opportunities for networking, professional engagement, and community involvement.

When are you eligible for student membership?

To be eligible for student membership, you must provide proof of your student status. This can be in the form of a valid student identification card or an admission letter from a recognised higher education institution anywhere in the world. A scanned copy of this document must be uploaded when submitting your membership application. 

Is student membership free?

Student membership is completely free of charge, with no application or annual subscription fees. Once approved, student membership is valid for up to three years.
